Kristine Ming

Kristine Ming is a classical pianist and piano teacher who was born and raised in Hawaii. She started playing the piano at the tender age of 6. Her musical mentors growing up in Hawaii included Ellen Masaki, Ernest Chang, and Evelyn Zuckerman.

Education

Kristine received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Yale University where she studied Psychology and Piano at the Yale School of Music. She received her Master’s of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. During her studies at Indiana University, this music school ranked as the number one music school in the nation along with Julliard.  While at Indiana University, Kristine Ming studied with the world renown pianist Menahem Pressler who served as the Jury member of the prestigious Van Cliburn Competition for many decades. 

Awards and Performances

Kristine has won several top awards for competitions such as the Morning Music Club Competition, the Blue Lake Competition,  the Seventeen Magazine and General Motors National Concerto Competition. In addition, she has performed numerous times with the Honolulu/Hawaii Symphony Orchestra as a Talent Pool Competition winner featuring piano concerto performances of Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Rachmaninoff. She has also performed at musical festivals such as the Chautauqua School Piano Program in New York. Kristine Ming has performed extensively in Hawaii and also solo recitals on the mainland United States.
